Meet Our Veterinarian
Amber R. Horn, DVM – Veterinarian, Owner
Dr. Amber Horn graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2003 with her DVM degree. She worked with Dr. Yolanda Burton in Stilwell for one year before starting her own veterinary clinic in 2004.
Dr. Horn is married to Rick. They have 5 children & 15 grandchildren. Four of their children & several grandchildren help run Lakeside Veterinary Services. It is definitely a family business.
When Dr. Horn is not working, she spends her time learning & playing with her grandchildren, going to Arts & Crafts shows, gardening, raising pygmy goats, caring for their small family farm & dog training with her companions “Zip” a Belgian Tervuren & “Spice” her Whippet. Her first Belgian Tervuren “Flash” is the inspiration for the Lakeside Veterinary Logo.
Meet Our Staff
Michelle Laymon is the oldest daughter & has worked here since 2005. She is the Groomer & Veterinary Assistant. Michelle knows where everything is & has the ability to turn a dirty, matted wad of hair into something cute. She is also a Licensed Wildlife rehabilitater taking in orphaned, abandoned & injured wildlife.
Logan Horn is the youngest child & has worked with us since the clinic was opened. Logan takes care of the budgeting, cleaning, reception & any maintenance the clinic needs. Logan is married to Ashley & they have 1 daughter & 2 sons.
Courtney Osburn is Dr. Horn’s 5th grandchild & Michelle’s daughter. She is a part time employee & a sophomore at Tahlequah High School. She is the reporter for Cherokee County 4H & a member of the Highschool Honor Society She is wanting to go to college to pursue a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
Alexis Pavey is the 4th grandchild of Dr. Horn & daughter to Nicole. She is a sophomore at Tahlequah High School & part time employee. She is on the Dance team & National Honor Society. She is also a member at Melissa’s Dance Studio & Vice President of Cherokee County 4H. Alexis loves animals, especially her rag doll cat “Zuma”.
